Why is my iPhone showing an “Important Message” or “Unknown Part” warning?
If you bought an iPhone XR, XS, or newer with a new battery, you might see these messages or warnings on your lock screen, notification center, or settings. Only Apple Authorized Service Providers and Apple Genius Bars can replace components without triggering these alerts.
What do these messages mean?
These messages appear when your device is repaired.The messages inform about the replaced component.
This doesn’t mean that your battery has an issue or is defective — it only means it was replaced with a new battery (or camera or screen) that works just as efficiently as the original one.
This message will be visible on the lock screen for 4 days and then for 15 more days in Settings. Getting this message doesn’t impact the iPhone’s performance. The only inconvenience is that you won’t be able to easily see your battery’s health and know when it’s time to replace it.
